Hi, I´m new to this forum and I would like to know if this dagger is a fake one.
I´ll try to get better pics.

The seller said the blade is fake.

Thank you!!

Welcome to GDC Cool Please post pics of the blade, but from what you've shown, the grip looks bad, the eagle is positioned too high which is seen on the early repros.

I agree with Red. The grip edges are too sharp plus, as said, the eagle is set too high. It looks like an early Sussex Armoury or Battle Orders offering from the early 80's. I think that pics of the blade would let the chaps who really know this stuff judge it's merit.

Photograph both sides of the blade & if you can srtip the dagger by removing the pommel nut on top, without using pliers as someone seems to have already done (piece of aluminium sheet cut to fit the nut is what I use, though some people have the correct tool).Photograph any markings you see, usualy on the inside of the cross guards & the blade tang (the piece of the blade the grip goes over).

Hi,
You are fast!! Smile

The seller said the blade is false (he even said how the original should be, this way this dagger was relatively "cheap") so I did'nt take pictures of it.

I thought about removing the pommel nut, but I'm traveling at the moment and I can't make a metal tool.....
Two things I noticed:
- Around the eagle border the wood is lighter than the overall surface.
- The cross guards seems to be chrome (I'm not sure).

Are these more evidences that it is a replica?

Thank you very much.

If you are going to use pliers on the top nut then cover it with a pair of rubber kitchen gloves which will protect it and give you purchase.
