Hi,

Just thought I would share my new acquisition to my growing collection of dark side daggers. This purchase comes with a story.

I restarted my German dagger collecting with SS daggers about four months ago. I have been bugging a friend to sell me his Ground Rolm SS dagger. I finally gave up and purchased one last month. As fate would have it, within a week or so my buddy called and said he would sell me his. It happens every time Confused

With the story out of the way, here is my latest SS dagger. I think it is a pretty nice early Ground Rolm Eickorn SS dagger. It has most of the cross grain with just a few dark portions. Scabbard has about 50% of the original lacquar (sp?) and all of the anodizing.

I have always liked the look for these political daggers.

Your comments welcome.

Thanks, Blademan

Skyline,

This one is not bench marked. Neither one of mine are.

Thanks, Blademan

Nice dagger! Unbenchmarked Eick's are not a problem with me, but some people need that security blanket. There is no question that many blades produced by that firm were not benched. It looks like a factory job with the crossgraining reapplied. Any chance of getting a closeup of the crossgrain? Was the obverse crossgraining also reapplied?

Skyline,
Thanks for your comments regarding my dagger. The back of the blade has a very nice factory re-grind. It almost blends into the rest of the blade. I doubt if my camera will be able to pick up the crossgrain difference.

I will post a picture of the grinding at my next available moment.

Thanks, Blademan

Nice grab! Scabbard looks great too, looks like all of the "anodizing" is still there and most of the lacquer.

Great Score! I bet by now the guy who sold you the SS is regeting it.
