I have received two bad "EBAY" emails in the last couple of days. I forwarded these to the "spoofing" email acct. at Ebay and they have verified that these were not from them. Be Careful: These emails look exactly like something you would get from Ebay!! I you have any doubt DON'T open any of the links or respond in any way. These messages in general tell you that your Ebay acct. will be suspended if you don't reply and do an update.

Like locusts or Moslen terrorist Spongy. Either of which I'd shoot on sight and wouldn't lose a minute of sleep over.

The name for that is phishing. You can get that from ebay, paypal or even a local bank. It has been around for at least 2 years now. When I filled out the requested info (phony data, of course) and submitted it I noticed that the URL changed from ebay to that of the slimesucker who is trying to clean me out. Sometimes the information they request makes it obvious that this an attempt of identity theft. In my case the wanted my Social Security #, Credit card number and Pin number, bank account #, etc. Nowadays you have to be a total idiot to give out this info.

All,
I feel that EBay doesn't need any competition in screwing people out of their money. Eric |
