Guys,

When at work I can reply and post, no probs at all.

When at home I get this small window appear and top left is labelled 'blank page'. It's very clever because the window is actually blank, a white screen. Every now and then I get a runtime error. If such actions persist, am going to start a nuclear war from home.

I've deep scanned the registry and removed all annoying mites.

Does anyone have any advice or recommendations?

Kind regards,

Davey

Do you have a popup blocker? Maybe pop up blocker is preventing the reply window from coming up?

Hold CTRL key down when you click on the reply button. That usually temporarily disables popup control.

Other thing is maybe you have some adware that is causing a problem. Without getting too complicated, go to www.download.com - then download and install SpyBot Search and Destroy. It is FREE and works great. Update it and then run the scan.

If you have any questions on how to work it let me know. It should protect you from most spyware and adware.

Hope I didn't "talk down" to your level of experience but you never know how much other's know.

Jim hi!

Thanks for takin' time to reply and how be NJ?

Jim, I haven't solved it but the problems seem to be via Explorer. I tried going through AOL (my ISP) last night and all is fine, I can post and reply.

I generally go via Explorer, just force of habit I s'pose. I have spybot and does help speed up the ole PC.

Many thanks again Jim.

Rgds,

Davey

Hi Davey,

NJ is fine... I am pretty good with computers. I used to work on them before I became a cop. If you have any other questions let me know. If you provide more detailed info as to your current problem I'd be happy to try and help. Of course, there is no substitute to being at the computer, but I can help if it is a minor issue.

Hey Jim,

Hope all is good over in NJ.

I still get these runtime errors now and then but they don't seem to be a real threat.

Your offer of assistance is very much appreciated Jim, am much obliged to you.

How's life on the collecting front, have you picked up a anything nice recently Jim?

PS

How much can you buy the cop leather jackets for Jim, they look pretty good?

Rgds,

Davey

OK I'm glad it is working now.

I got your CD with the photos today but have not been able to look at it yet. Thanks again.

As for the cop jacket, the place we get them from is about $399 I think. I got mine 7 years ago and it is just starting to break in!!! haha it is very thick and has a nice fur lining. We pretty much get them through the department.

The place we get our stuff from is Passaic Leather:

Jim hi,

Hope all's good and that you are not worked too hard at protecting people and property Wink

I have this scrap book at home of a LA homicide detective and is eye opening stuff. Very interesting and how crime rates differ due to the weather i.e. in LA the climate is more or less the same all year round. Where it gets colder in other States it falls as burglars and murderers don't like the cold just like everybody else. I s'pose being a cop in LA you are kept pretty busy Jim?

Thanks for the link Jim! Hey some really nice jackets here and am tempted to buy. These look like proper jackets.

Which model is yours Jim?

haha, I had to read that again... I never said I was in LA!

The jacket my department uses looks like the very first one on the top Brick TWP on the link I provided.
