I have Windows 98. In my douments and my pictures when I click on a jpeg I get a preview of the pic on the left but when I try to open the pic I just get a blank box with no pic. Could this be a Java problem? What settings should I check. Help is appreciated.

When you open the picture, what program is being used to view it with? For example, when you double click on a picture, the system knows what program to open to view that picture (it's called a file association), such as Windows Paint or another picture viewing program you may have installed.

Go to Windows Explorer | View | File Types and then look at the jpg file type. Which application does it say it should use? Has it always used Internet Explorer to open jpgs with? You'll have to pardon my questions as it has been a while since I've used Win 98.
