That's neat! How do you get the helmet to look like it's floating in the air? Thanks

These are some of the sharpest and most clear photos I have ever seen. Could you please give us some info about how they were taken...equipment, lighting, etc. Thanks much.

Jerry,
The above photo has been massively reduced in quality due to the 100k filesize limit of the forum, all my pictures are taken in a large window with tons of natural light, I use a tripod and a timer to eliminate any distortion and its well worth anybody reading their camera manual from back to front so you can make the most of all the different exposure settings. These photos were taken on a Fuji 9600 6mpx and the uncompressed results are 10 times better than what is shown above. For anybody who is interested, heres how the above picture started out > ![]() |

Then the helmet is re-pasted onto the background.
While it is possible to achieve the same results with different trials, backgrounds and light settings when you initially take the picture, I find it much easier to quickly snap off an in focus picture and edit the results in professional photo editing software. Once you have found your way around the software, the whole process takes about 5 minutes. ![]() |

Thanks very much for your explanation of some of the methods of obtaining such fine photos! I really appreciate it.
