Hi Gents , It's not my field and ,I was never lucky enough to find or own one but , one's been offered to me now. I thought I'd post it to see what you think . I remember years ago , the attached Skull was the key point in spotting a real one ...things have changed a bit now though.
The seller said it was a Vet buy and came in that box . The Teeth area of the Skull worries me ..maybe the wear is throwing me off ?

I do not see anything that says fake from here.I like the script and wear.A better photo of Himmler signature would help.

Hi Zorro ...we have not even discussed a final price yet ...

The name Blassfeld does not show up in my small reference library.I do not think that is critical.The last real SS honor ring I saw the person who owned it bought it at auction as a sterling silver ring for ten dollars.He was asking about 600 times that for it.I can't blame him.

I agree with Evgeniy. The skull looks exactly like the repos sold on ebay under lorenzo and muller. I think its a repo that was purposly warn down to look like its an original. I would not be supprised if it wasnt even real silver.

Reproduction, I say. At first glance, the skull looks right - It's that same smiling style you see sometimes. The engraving in the name looks really good, but the date does not look like Gahr engraving. While not perfect sometimes, the Gahr engravers made the numbers in a fairly straight line, not going uphill like this. Notice the 2's look quite different from each other also. It may be the photo, but the "er" in Himmler's name doesn't look right at all. The wear on the ring looks artificial. There's one area that is troubling. Look at the 2nd picture in the post. The bottom border on the lower right of the photo between the Sig-rune and the skull seems to disintegrate. I'm very sure it's fake but even closer photos would be nice. How about a direct photo of the back Ty-rune, and closer photos of the engraving?
