I looked through the postings and noticed that non german rings are posted. I assume that it is okay to post Japan on here. If I am wrong, I am sorry !

I apologize for the pictures, I usually do better but for some reason I did not do well this time, my camera may not be up to the task.

The ring has JAPAN 1945 on the outside lower band, the writing is raised as opposed to stamped. The cross has white enamel looking paint on it, some is worn off. There is a square box under the base with some sort of symbols in it. I could clean it and maybe it would be more readable.

Comments would be appreciated !

Hello Newbie and welcome to the forum..
Sure Japan rings are sure welcome here,,don't think Jareth will mind..

It's an old ring,,the styling looks correct for the WW2 period also.

I wouldn't clean it just yet.. If there's dirt in the box with the makers or a content stamp you might try a toothpick and clean it out a little. If you can make out a marking please let us know..
The emblem looks familiar,,, Could that be a unit emblem?

Gaspare,

I cleaned the box out and there appears to be symbols in it, possibly Japanese writing. It's very small...... as well the ring is very small, it fits my pinky finger and I don't have big hands.

Thanks

$40..~you did great with it!

As to value that depends on many different things,,the economy,,region/country,,auction as opposed to direct sale,etc..

Around by me here on the Northeast coast,,on a good day, with the right person, you could easily double it.

Nice ring,,you should keep it!

I haven't seen a Japanese military ring I thought was real (post war U.S. G.I.)in over 30 years collecting! Nor can I recall seeing a soldier wearing a ring in any period photo.
