This ring I got from a citizen of Danzig .
I’m told the rose , which is depicted on sides is the symbol of the Husar regiment Danzig. Can someone confirm that this?

Benten. Danzig Husar regiments 1 and 2 are old,, 1741 they started!
There were also Freikorp era ones also [right after the WW1]..

I do not think this ring is that old..I'm thinking its just a variation of a Totenkopf ring... I have definitely seen that flower band before as a blank in old period [30s-40s] catalogs, and actual rings...
Its a really nice variation rarely seen.....Good catch! , G.

Ringman, BB and Gaspare thank you. Smile

BB, if there is another ring , I would like to see it.

Gaspare nice picture of the Leib Husaren- regiment. The dealer explained this ring is from between the wars; ca 1925, 2nd Leib-Husar regiment….I don’t know.
Thanks for your good information.

benten, Let me add my congats as well on a very nice ring. The variations seem endless when it comes to skull rings.

G, What rings will you cover in your book? If I have anything of interest your welcome to use them if you like.

*Benten,,I'd be happy with just the one! Big Grin

*Mikee, I'll be covering Freikorps era to the end of the 3rd Reich.. ALL the military branches,,,and ALL the Para military organizations! Also Axis, foreign volunteer and collaborating countries. A large undertaking and this is why its taking so long.I'll be happy to finish by the end of this year....
There will be well over 100 rings shown just of originals!.. Also chapters on Design, construction methods, styling ~ Reproductions ~ Period photos in wear with period advertisements ~ 'Specials'..

I've also added a small chapter of ring collections from around the world. Just shots of collections.. Please, anyone with more than 3 rings take a large file sized photo [over 200kb] and send to me as an attached JPEG and I'll show it in that chapter!
