Hi G. Thanks. My ring is dated 21/6/42. I have the file on the original owner as well. He was an Unterstrumfuhrer.

Erich, thanks for the photo. Great to actually have the guy on the list!, and get a history on him. An interesting unit/department? Any awards? Did he survive the war? , thanks, G.

Nothing too special about him, He was an early Party and SS member from Nurnberg. He was promoted to an Officer on 20/4/42 and was then awarded his ring.

Erich, they are all special! How many items of Nazi regalia do we have in our hobby that actually has the recipients name on it?! [not counting paper].

There are other items that have numbers that can be traced to the man, but I can only think of 2 other official pieces,,the Luftwaffe Goblet of Honor and the Honor Salver that officially are supposed to have the recips name on it..Yes every HR something special. Smile.., G.

I agree G. Forgot to add he was a member of Lebensborn as well. The Gold Party Badge is another.

I think Don Boyle has said he feels between 500-1000 rings survived.

Any ideas on the original number issued?

Was Himmler the only one who issued these rings?

I think about 14,000 were issued. Himmler did not personally issue most of the ringsand no one knows where the remaing rings are.

Gentlemen,

Happy Julfest to all collector friends here on GDC. I am really curious what will show up in the collector scene within the next year since now it is the time that first-hands-finds will come to an end...

Best wishes!
