Were there dominate ring dates for the TKHR for 1940,41,42,43&44? For example you see a lot 42 rings dated 21/6.

Erich, Himmlers orders in 1939 were for there to be only 4 fixed dates:

20.4 - AH birthday

21.6 -Summer solstice

9.11 -1923 putsch that failed

21.12 -the Winter solstice

Also some numbers for the rings award years:
1940- 1,471
1941- 1,184
1942- 2,240
1943- 1,798
1944- 1,935

You will see a lot of 42 and 44 rings out there because of their high production/award numbers.

Hi Gents ..First of all I want to thank you again for helping me survive my first Honor Ring episode ..that was interesting . I never knew or thought about how many of these Rings were awarded until you just posted that Gaspare.
Considering there were 7,360 Knight's Crosses awarded , and the fact that both Awards were instituted in 1939... It seems that Himmler meant to create an award equivalent to the Knight's Cross, but only for the SS .
I wonder how many Rings are in Collectors hands (no pun here)? ..and how many are still "out there"
Also ..since there were thousands of them made ..there had to be more than one die. Has anyone tried identifying some of the "die flaws" the way the S&L Knight's Cross have been documented ?

I've always wondered which dates in the individual years were more rare than others. I'm sure one of the four days each year was more popular, for whatever reason.

Mike, sent you a PM on the die flaws.
