Bought this from a German dealer today, SS HR is not my speciality (to say the least), so appreciate any advice from the forum members if OK or not, the name has been erased.

Thanks a lot.

Thank you for your reply which is appreciated, can I conclude this is not an original SS honour ring?

Soren,,Just one of the main problems is that date! 9 1 42.
Later patterns had 4 fixed dates:
20 4
21 6
9 11
21 12
The 9 and the 1 are poorly engraved almost as if by a amature.. There is some weirdness going on with that skull and Himmler sig also!
Save your money. There are rings out there with names at least in them! Let someone else get that one...,G.

Thank you for all the replies.

According to the seller the ring itself should be 100% ok, only the entire engraving was erased at some stage and then re-engraved.

As I mentioned in the start of this thread I know nothing about these rings, so all advice is appreciated Smile

By all means get your money back without delay. Buy the ring, not the story. There's enough real rings out there that will present no questions as to veracity.

This is really a pretty nice copy if you only look at the outside of the ring. Some of the die flaws have even been reproduced but like everyone has said the engraving is a dead give away.
