hi,all.
is there no one out there who can give me his
opinian on this ring? i have spoken to the
seller who claims he obtained it from his
father who was in the dak. it is marked 900 and
one other mark which cannot be maked out. it is
identical to the repro ring that is on the same
site, even down to the small hole on the top of the ring, so i am not sure about it. any
help would be most welcome. thanks mike

Mike,..The 2 rings in BadBobs links are reproductions.. Forget about stories. A good ring will speak out to you and tell you its own story!
*Study the photos in the links ,,you'll see a fault line going around the whole ring ,outside and inside! These fault lines are from the rubber mold that makes the wax model. Originals were not made like that...

Here is a bigger shot of the fake:

Mike, when the rings come out of the rubber molds there usually is some fault lines from the seam you must split to get the model out.. The jeweler smooths these out and gets rid of any other faults before it gets cast..

The wax moldels here are a high quality and very liitle of a fault remains. The 2 rings from the links are the poorest looking reproductions i've seen in a while,,the maker didn't either bother to get rid of the lines!

If your interested in how 99% of the fakes are made do a internet search on 'Lost Wax Cast'.
