as we are coming into the festive season, and some holidays i will start this thread again with some pictures i think odal wanted over the weekend dig YOURS OUT,..... thanks E
This really is a beauty. I wonder if somehow they use the same tooling on these glass ones. They are exact of their metal conterparts the ones I've seen. Don't you have this one in brass? If you do when you get the chance throw a ruler up on them and see if they are the same demensions,,thanks!
*ringman,,since we lost both our WestWall ring topics lets make this one the be all end all. Please, any members with a West Wall, or West Front please put them up!
Here's the one that started it all,,the original, now classic standard example:

Another.. This is a common one. It might take a while ,,but you'll eventually find one in very good condition,,don't wait too long though!! These came with a silver wash, matt and polished,, and also with just a clear type varnish right over the brass [messing]...

bad photo I know,,but,, ,this is a little harder pattern to find. Brass, this one with the polished or flashed [quick] silver plate on it.. Doesn't matter what was on them it is usually off by the time we get them

,,in hand they appear normal,,here is from my quickie photo taking without proper lighting..
If yours have the purplish hue it could just be from wear, age, polish, etc. Or the color of your box background [black sometimes] affects their color when looking at them.
*Come on now ringman, get your WWs up here!

sorry G but i carn't go along with that the ring is the same one as that and has the same purplish tinge ,was there ever a coloured wash on them ? to much of a coincidence for the same ring to have this tinge.. ill post mine tomorrow i'll take them in the daylight
For years I've had in hands a westwall 1939-40 totenkopf ring (with the text on the forhead) that looked very good (with black wash ) only it had partly a coloured purple wash in the recesses. Perhaps this can happen to be sometimes on authentic rings.
It is a good idea to remake the Westwall ring item ...
The last ring could be too a "west-front"-ring. both patterns are existing "west-wall" and "west-front". I have a nice "west-front"-piece in very good condition. same stamps/manufacturer.
The first rind with the red stone: wow!! a real nice ring. I have to hunt to get one!
