Hello everyone. I found this cap in a local antique store. Thought it was a fake out of hand. However the replaced buttons caught my eye. After researching I believe these to be from a ss tuxedo. Could the eagle be real as well. No experience in these as they were so rare. Please present your opinions and discussion. Thanks

Sold through WWII Inc. in the 1970s. I have one I bought back then and still wear (minus the buttons and eagle) as a winter cap. Mine came with the same buttons.

The fake buttons are thin, dished, and indeed for formal wear. Original SS-tux buttons are exceptionally well made, multi-part with domed backs.

Well made, and after 30 years, my cap is getting that "authentic" salty look. Wink

Cheers,

Stephen
