To my eye, they look modern. These kinds of things are easily faked. They may be gold, but who knows? A good engraver can engrave anything on anything. This is not my kind of collectible, but I would avoid it.

Another note is that Europeans Before WWII did not usually use 14K gold they used 18K. 14K gold in the USA came about when the US went off the gold standard under Roosevelt in the early 30's and it was illegal to own gold bullion 18K and above. Jewelers started using 14K for American consumption.

In Europe gold runs all over the board. You'll see many items stamped anywhere from .333, .375, .412, .585, .750. As to the cufflinks I'll bet they were made just recently!
