Hello,

here is a foto of two armbands for an Amtsleiter in a NSDAP Kreisleitung.

Please note the oakleafs - on the second armband all oakleafs are going in the same direction, on the first not.

I ask me, what happened and wether this is normal.I want to buy one of these and I am a little bit confused about the differences.

Regards

Kolibri

Hi both are good examples. First is in a bullion wire and will age tarnish. The quality and appearance of these earlier pieces is considered more desireable by some collectors. The second is in a later celleon. They are both very nice and collectible and it will be a matter of personal preference as to which example you wish to purchase, cheers, Ryan

Ryan,

at first, thanks for your comment.

Is it correct, that the upper and lower oakleafs of the first armband are running in different directions?

And: a friend told me, that the second one, the celleon type, could be a fake. Do you see anything wrong?

Regards

Kolibiri

DETAILS AND WORKMANSHIP ON #1 SEEM TO BE POOR QUALITY AND NOT UP TO RZM STANDARDS. I HAVE MY DOUBTS. #2 APPEARS TO BE A FINE ORIGINAL EXAMPLE.

I had an armband once that one celleon oakleaf strip and one bullion..

Saying that, the first armband is poorly formed in the area of the swastika.

Hi I bow to both Bob and Doug whom I know but I will maintain that from the pictures provided there is nothing that causes me concern about either brassard. Having said this a hands on inspection would of course be optimum and would be the determining factor, cheers, Ryan

THE BACKING CONSTRUCTION ON #1 APPEARS CORRECT. THE ONE BAND OF OAKLEAVES IS DEFINITELY SEWN ON IN REVERSE. POSSIBLY, THIS ARMBAND GOT WET CAUSING THE DISTORTION TO THE SWASTIKA. CONSTURCTION IS THERE-THE QUALITY IS NOT.

The first one, as noted, does display certain correct manufacturing details but the swastika is sloppy, for sure. Also, the fact is that both sets of oakleaves should point the same way, so this is an error in construction on this one.
The second armband looks perfectly ok for its style, although these types are less desireable...IMO.... than the other type.
