Just to clarify, the Thurner Totenkopfring is dated 1940, not 1941. In my opinion Dietrich Thurner was not the recipient of this ring since the October, 1942 Dienstalterslist fails to list him as a Totenkopfring recipient. Although this isn't completely dispositive, it's fairly convincing. There are several other Thurners listed on the DALs, any suggestions as to who the recipient might be?

There is also a Robert Thurner listed in the 138 DAL. SS nr# 202945
