I have documents for medals awarded to SS Officers. Maybe somebody can give me information about the SS Officers.

1. 13.Marz1938 Medal awarded 22. Mai 1939 to SS-Sturmbannfuhrer EBERHARD FREIHERRN VON KUNSBERG

2. 1.OCTOBER1938 Medal awarded 6.Februar 1940 to SS-Untersturmfuhrer ERICH SCHNITZLER

3. Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse mit Schwertern Document awarded to SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer (F) ERICH SCHNITZLER dated 30. Januar 1943

4. Promotion Document to SS-Obersturmfuhrer signed by Himmler (Green Ink) for SCHNITZLER, ERICH - SS-Nr. 93 879 - Pers.Stab RFSS dated 9.November 1940

These documents along with Hitler Stationary, Goring & Goebbels paper & other items, came with the medals and were supposed to come from Berchesgarden.

There is a Wehrpass and Medals belonging to HEINZ SCHARF with some interesting information in it with the grouping.

One Telegram & a Card, to SS Officers, in the group was from LEOPOLD MACK. Can anybody tell me who LEOPOLD MACK is?

If you want pictures of items I mentioned or any of the other things... Let me know.

Thanks,

CHUCK

I'd be interested in seeing photos if possible,
especially the documents to SCHNITZLER, ERICH.
Maybe pictures would help out in getting some more input.

From "German Cross in Gold Holders of the SS and Police," volume 4, SS Cavalry, Bender Publishing, 2009.

Von Künsberg, born in Speyer on September 2, 1909, (SS# 1 552) had served in Reitersturm 3./I./1 (the original Munich Reitersturm) since May 1, 1931. Commissioned on April 20, 1934, as z.b.V. for Oberabschnitt “Süd,” he was appointed adjutant to the Reiterführer of Oberabschnitt “Süd” (Hermann Fegelein) on June 1, 1934. Promoted to Obersturmführer September 30, 1934, Hauptsturmführer September 15, 1935, and Sturmbannführer September 12, 1937. He led the SS-Reiterstandarte 15 from September 29, 1934, until April 1, 1936, as successor to Hermann Fegelein. Von Künsberg served with the SS-Hauptreitschule in Munich in 1938 and then with the Inspektion der SS-Reitschulen. In August 1944 he was assigned to “Florian Geyer” as a Sturmbannführer.

Note

Correct spelling is Künsberg, not Kunsberg. An easy confirm being he is the the only SS officer with that last name (and Prussian titled) in prewar DAL.
