This press photo is marked on back- Acme Newsphotoes,Inc. and is stamp dated Nov. 20 1933.
The description on the reverse reads: 10th anniversary of Nazi party's first sucess in Bavaria with unveiling of memorial at Munich to 16 who died for their party.Chancelor Hitler w/ Gen. Goehring & Storm Troop Leader Roehm on platform.

Can anyone help me ID any others in this photo?
Why do some of the area's seem to be colored/mutted out?
Did this photo ever go to press? If so can you tell me which newspaper?
Any other information/input would be appreciated.
Thanks

The identify of the fellow just behind Goring is Adolf Wagner, Gauleiter of Munchen-Oberbayern. It makes sense that he would be there at the Feldherrnhalle in Munich for this 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Beer Hall Putsche of 9 November 1923.

The colored/mutted areas look like typical touch-ups made by printers before the image was to published in a Newspaper. (note the strange figure just below the lion's head, above Rohm!)

Attached is a close up of Wagner. None of the others in your photo look familiar.

Do you guys think their may be a chance that the man seated on the lions base next to photographers might be Putzi Hanfstaengl?

Does anyone have info on the date that the monument on the east side of the feldherrnhalle for the 16 party members who lost their lives was unveild.
Was it in fact on Nov.9,1933 as this photo's text states?
Any info on what ever happened to this monument
and was there an official name for it?
Thanks

I believe the term for it was "feldherrenhalle ehrenmal". The putsch was in 1923, so the 10 year dedication of it fits. It came up in 1933 but I do not know the exact date. An internet search might help narrow it down. Thanks for posting the great photos.

The man in the background behind Hitler with a part in the middle of longish hair is Warner Wolkenhower. He was the lead printer in the shop that produced the official party newspaper, the Volkischer Beobachter. He worked at the paper until 1939 when he entered the army. He fought in Polen and then remained there as part of the occupying troops. In 1941 he was involved in the attact on the Soviet Union. At that point he disappeared and no further information is available.

Erich found this great You Tube link that shows the 11/9/33 Feldhernnhalle speech.
Is this Hitler at the approximate time that this press photo was taken?
Check out the video from 1:16-1:44 and let me know what you think.

Thanks Erich for letting me use this.

Dean, my copy of the photo of AH @ the FHH came from a cigarette card book. I think that it's from the 1933 dedication of the FHH Mahnmal.
