Hi, I got this photo a while back, I dont think the seller noticed the back ground grouping to the left hand side.
It looks like Deitrich (extreme left) Himmer (back in leather coat and Hitler (facing small guy) It might just be wishfull thinking of me but have a look. What do you think, every thing fits in. 1 Lots of high ranking police 2 what loks like a Gestapo agent to the far right?? (Because up close his badge is a swastika) 3 The car parked in the back ground. What do you think. Any way I dont know too much about the police, but they seem very high ranking, and very nice is the sward! Si Smith, the photographs are very nice and interesting and I do not know the persons shown in them. But I am sorry and sure that not one of the persons you mentioned is in the photographs.

Looks to me the guy in the middle with his backside and talking to the low-rank little guy could be Police -General Daluege. seems they are on an trip into 'liberated-annexed ' Austria and he has an escort of several staff members and invited SS-officers. The unknown uniform ,again with backside towards camera,could be an Austrian Officer,since it looks like a star on the collar ! Just a guess. Bernd.

I am afraid the photos were a bit later than during the Anschluss. Some of the NCOs are wearing the overseas caps that had not been introduced to the police at that time. The photos must date from after the fall of 1939, the time of introduction of the caps. And, no I do not think the tall fellow is Daluege. I would believe he would be surrounded by an entourage of higher ranked officers.

Hi, I agree with JWOTKA. The man on far left of the photo could be a SD Officer. Loot at the blank collar tab on left.
