Hi All:

I was going through a group of WW II vet's snapshots at a flea market and found this one mixed in with the lot. I suspect the vet picked it up while on "tour" in Europe. Perhaps they are HitlerJugend SS. First photo I have seen that shows what looks to me to be the HJ knife as combat gear.

Enjoy!

That's a great photo! Certainly looks to be an HJ knife and scabbard - nice find.

Interesting photo with the HJ knife.
I guess you never know what a peice has been through until you see a picture like this.
Wonder if these guys were photographed with the thought it may be their last photo together.

Outstanding ! So here is proof that it actually did happen. An HJ knife in a combat situation. Just like in the movies !

Page 415 of the 1985 4th edition of "When all the Brothers are Silent" has a pic of one laying on a table with SS men & nurses. The caption is "a happy party in the Kueps training area in Upper Franconia". It looks like they used it to slice bread.

Nice pic..young men with a lot of firepower in that picture..2x MG-42's

Any writing on the back?

I notice that the 1st and 3rd men appear to be holding the typical 'old landser' tobacco pipe in their hands..

Unfortunately, there is nothing written on the photo. It was mixed in with a lot of GI photos that the dealer got out of a house. Sometimes it pays to take the time to look through what's in a baggie.
