Anyone collect this type of item??..
They are badges, pins and IDs for civilian workers employed by the 3rd Reich,,either by voluntary or 'forced' labor? Some factories issued their own ID pins/badges.There are also work permissions and special passes to use public transportation.. Weird pieces and getting harder and harder to find. There are many and it gives me something to look for when the ring selection is slim |

These are a badge and pin for civilian workers outside of Reich borders employed by and paid by the Wehrmacht when there wasn't a uniform supplied..
The smaller stic pin are for men,,and the pin back badge are for women.. They came solid and hollow back.. There is little information for these pieces, with the exception of a small write up here and there.. The Wehrmachtgefolge badges: |

Interesting collection. looks like a lot of hard earned searching hours went into it. I have only seen a very few here and there. Have none myself.
Who wore the cloth badge in the lower left corner viewer facing? --dj--Joe |

Some tasty items there Gaspare. Alas I do not have any id's from this area yet.
I believe that I have a couple of eagle pins like the one shown under your Wehrmachtgefolge badges in the top picture. They came in with a large group of stickpins last year, not sure if they are original though. Cheers Don "Much that once was, is lost, for none now live who remember it" Galadriel, LotR. |

*Joe,, that is for Russian women to wear on their regular cloths.. Many were took from their homes and brought to camps outside of Germany first to see if they could, would work and not be an escape risk.
Eventually some of these women were brought into large German families homes to work as caretakers, maids, etc. Some worked in German factories. Again, those without a uniform were supposed to have these patchs on their clothes.. So far there have been no embroidered examples,,nor have any Bevo 'type' shown up. These are 2 of very few insignia that were printed only. Here's a period photo of one in wear. The other girl is wearing the Ukrainian patch. ![]() |

Some of you might have seen an 'OST' patch.. It was a printed patch to be worn by forced laborers from the Eastern occupied territories.. The workers hated wearing them.
Here found in my travels in East Europe is an actual OST ID card! I would imagine this would be a pretty rare piece. I've been thru bunches of IDs and documents over there and this is the only one I've ever seen . |

I've yet to ID many of these pins/badges.. Some are very interesting. One I have is for the factory of one of the originators of the Allen Key in Germany!!
This piece might be an ID that was either worn around the neck or in this case sewn to maybe part of the clothing,,anyway..I'd love to ID this piece,,anyone? this look familiar? |

Thanks for the kind words guys..
Here's a work ID pass for a Polish person.. The ID had to of course be carried on the person at all times. The patch,,'P' for Poland / Polish person, also was to be worn on the clothing at all times.. |

The pins / badges for the most part were pretty well made. I'd say a better quality than tinnies.
These had to be worn at all times while on the factories property. Many include the workers 'personal number'... |

Most workers had their IDs in a small leather holder or sometimes in metal ones.
Those from foreign soil [non Germans] had theirs in a sealed metal frame like this one.. |

Many factories were in occupied territory. The local workers after being checked out and cleared for work used these passes too.
Passes like these named to 'famous tank or airplane factories bring in some good money. The examples I've seen with the most value [read big money!] have been those named to the Herman Goring Werks!! |

Gaspare, great looking items. I don't think I have many items from this area. Here are the 2 I could find. the badge on the left is made by Junker and on the right it's hard to make out.

Here's the other piece I got..
Been looking for an original in good condition for a long while now,,finally got it. The 'Zivilabzeichen der Heimatflakartillerie' [Civil badge of the homeland anti-aircraft artillery] stick pin not exactly a 'worker' piece but still a civilian piece thats been a hard one for me to add to this little collection.. ![]() |
