Hey Guys

Just ran across this set of Gold Party pins, and i have a chance to buy them. This is not my area of collecting, but they look very nice. To me they look right as rain, but it doesn't hurt to get a second opinion. Also what would be a fair value for these two, and what is the research potential on the Numbers. Any info would help out. THanks guys.

Spencer

Nice original set. I don't have the number in my database, but I'm sure it is researchable through an expert like Robert McDivitt.

Cheers,

Stephen

Wow, those are some low numbers.
On the smaller pin are the numbers engraved or stamped? Is that typical for a G.P.B.?
Good luck in the I.d. of the recipient.
Hope it turns out good.

The small Fuess pin has hand engraved numbers, which is less common but genuine.

It looks like the small pin has had a tough life - the pin attachment has come off post-award and replaced by a tab-back for button holes, which has been put on crooked (or at an angle specifically for a non-horizontal button hole). At some point the enamel front has come off and been put back on crooked as well, as the wreath is rotated incorrectly - the "X" on the wreath at 2 o'clock should be right below the "A" in "D.A.P."

In any event, it looks like the small pin got a lot of wear and took a lot of knocks, probably because the holder was out of uniform most of the time.

Cheers,

Stephen
