Hi All:

Was rooting around in Himmlers' files and came across a proposal from 20 March 1942 for a special SS-Kraftfahrabzeichen driving award for Waffen-SS. The file includes all of the rules for qualification and awarding along with the design sketches. It was to be awarded in bronze, silver and gold. Guess this should give the fakers something to add to their products now since the one with the motorcycle would probably be particularly desirable today, especially in gold. The first attachment is for the distances needed to qualify.

Looking forward to meeting you all at the Max where I will have a table.

Regards,

Ross Kelbaugh

Here is the design drawing for the proposed Waffen-SS motorcycle driving award. Perhaps one will turn up at the Max.

Enjoy!

ROSS,

You are finding a 'Treasure Trove' of information in those Files ..... and you appreciated the significance of what is there.

How many, many others have 'browsed' through those old Files, but failed to note the importance of much of the information.

Keep digging out these Historical bits of information!

It is totally fascinating!! Txs, Dave/dblmed

More great work Ross. If anyone can find the numbers to match up with the names already found on the 2nd pattern Blood Orders my bet it will be you. Please keep it up and thanks again for sharing. Best, Erich
