The leather is brand new as you can see and I bet it still smells like new leather. The stamp is fantasy and the stiching is sloppy post war done. About the buckle by self, I wouldn't buy it. Please take also attention to the different things like the leather condition and the buckle condition.

Hi Robert,

the buckle is a well known fake made in East Europe, the leather tab is also fake with fantasy markings.

Hi Ian,

usually SS buckles (Enlisted and Officer) had not leather tabs by factory, in spite of this some examples in known collection have a period made tab ........am I right JP? Big Grin

The ONLY real SS buckle w a Leather tab that I have seen is an Aluminum SS Officers w a pebbled brown tab.It is part of Marc Verstraete's collection.

No Big Grin Big Grin ... and there is several other original SS buckles with original leather tab sewn on them by an original WWII craftman to suit an original SS man/NCO/officer personnal taste. But none including Marc Verstraete's, Jean Pierre Redeuilh's or other's were officially produced as such. So far it is the most important concern.
