What is the current price range for an Allgemeine-SS brocade belt with buckle? The buckle is "minty," while the belt is about "very good, plus." The backing is black velvet. Thank you.

I feel a realistic price is closer to $2500-$3000.

Thanks for the responses. They help. I've just learned the belt is supposed to be in its original box and am awaiting photos. Obviously, that increases the value. Does anybody have an idea by how much? Thanks, again.

Yes, mine is about $4000, and is in my humble opinion, a "realistic" price for a mint conditioned example. I would buy them ALL DAY LONG in mint condition for $2500 to $3000, but I wouldn't have the opportunity, because I would probably be fighting a hoard of collectors and dealers to get them. If you can get it at that price, you are way ahead of the game, and you are to be commended. Smile

I finally received photos. The buckle appears to be 100% ok. The brocade looks good. I can't tell much about the black backing. It appears to be velvet, as represented, but could be flannel or felt. The belt does show what appears to be honest age and wear. The box is oval-shaped with a lid and is tan-colored, with no outer markings that I can see. The inside of the lid is marked: "BASLER, Strausinger Strasse, Landau- (?) (possibly a number). Comments on whether the box sounds to be authentic and of the type brocade belts came in would be appreciated.

I agree. if mint unissued with the box, 4K is a realistic price.

It depense also if the brocade comes with the RZM tag and what kinda buckle is on the belt. Nickel/Silver would have for me a higher value then an Alu buckle. Then it depense also if maybe the box is named ... but we already know it what makes the price.

The box is in nice condition, as is the buckle (aluminum). The belt shows a fair amount of wear, but is not in poor condition. Most of the age and wear are on the backing. There appears to be a velvet flap on the reverse which covers the buckle prongs when the belt is worn.

Has to be that way. Anything else is replacement slide.

Indeed, but unfortunately in such case the buckle would probably be a replacement one.

Thank you for the information, Jean Pierre. Is the "flap" on the reverse (mentioned above) also found on waffen-ss and police-ss brocade belts as well?

Indeed. It prevents the rollbar to rub on the out dress uniform.
