JC you have absolutely wonderful daggers there. I usually check these "thick cord" portepees with a black lite, they can often be post-war. You have to look under the bullion on the ball to get them to light.

Beautiful looking Social Welfare dagger, looks just great next to the similarly conditioned DRK Officer's piece. Are there any tang markings on either?

I can't speak to the knot but Paul has a point about the thick corded knots.
