Recently bought in a lot. It is very nice and old dagger. Similar to forestry (i think). Blade looks like KS short. Tell me what this might to be ?

Certainly not an issued piece... Maybe WW1 or interwar private purchase side piece..For a well heeled type/ officer etc..

These type of knives fall under the general catagory of boot knives with "carbine" style blades. They have bayonet style blades and "S" shaped crossguards. There is an chapter about them in Johnson's Vol.7 of Collecting the Edged Weapons of the Third Reich.

If you look under the Houston Coates forum, page 2 under the heading "Pair of unusual hunting daggers" you'll see my pair of these similiar knives.
