Hi! Please give some help to identify the maker of this RAD Hewer; the blade is unmarked but inside the grip there's some marks: E W and the number 27. I guess the number refers to the knife number in the assembly row and the initials EW refers to the maker's name, I found two posible matches; Edward Wusthof and Ernst Witte, as I don't know if any of these two makers was involved with the manufacturing of ths dagger model I can't decide wich one is correct. Thanks in advance.

EW are the initials of Ernst Wagner, a casting house that also made crossguards for political daggers, commonly found on NPEA daggers. They would have cast the hilt of this RAD hewer.

I agree with Don, many times the logo or initials inside a dagger refer to a caster instead of the blade manufacturer. I have a late SA with the initials CAH on the tang although the blade was Weyersberg marked. The initials are for Carl Aug. Hartkopf's foundry so I'm surer Weyersberg bought parts from Hartkopf. Presumably that's the story with your RAD.

Thanks to Don & Billy for the info I think the marks on the hilt are exclusive from the maker (I have a dress bayo by Eickhorn marked CE on the hilt), any idea of maker of the hewer? the blade seems to had been buffed, so no marks on it. Regards.
