What do you say? Any red flags?
To me it looks fine, and, yes I know, that the "looks as slotted pan-head screw" on picture 13 isn´t original (what a shame) and was maybe made, becuse the owner had no tool to open it.... Ostmaerker ![]() |

Nobody has an opinion about the dagger?
Come on guys, where are the experts? Ostmaerker |

IMO its a post war copy. It is totally lacking in finish that you would expect from an Eickhorn G.O dagger, and those internal marks are just wrong.I would pass on this one!

Ost. Eickhorns are rarer than Alcoso's and the flathead assembly screw is rarely seen so perhaps few know this piece. From what I see it looks original but IMHO it's been taken apart many times... too many times. The result is it lacks the fit and finish that "virgin" examples demostrate. It looks to be heavily worn and I'm not sure what the heck is going on with the top of the pommel. Maybe someone has ground it or sanded it or something. looks like also there was some splatter when the rings were soldered to the bands so some of the detail is missing there. The screw may be a replacement as the slot looks wide, Maybe someone buggered the original and replaced it?
Personally, like Cool I would not buy this. It appears to be an original dagger that has been played with too much for my liking. When you post something like this and there is silence often people just are not sure, that in itself says something. When you buy a GO buy an unquestioneable original that will let you sleep nights. |

Paul is exactly right! Save your money. This is a highly Molested Piece.

While PROBABLY all original, it has been cleaned and taken down MANY TIMES and maybe the spanner wrench top nut has had the holes buggered and then cut to a screwdriver slot to cover the problem (the piece is numbered to the dagger). The slot looks a little off center to me, although ones with a slot do exist, but are a very hard sell, especially in this condition.
The blade, probably original, has been rubbed and maybe even steel wooled?? JMO, Ron Weinand MAX CHARTER MEMBER LIFE MEMBER OVMS |

First of all, thanks a lot for your opinions!
That piece could eventually be a extremely cheap one, and that would be the pro-point. I see it like you guys see it, its OK, BUT.....(big BUT) Oh, Paul: Yes I know, you got a very fine Eickhorn on your site, and every time I see it, I just want it, an the day I sell my shares with big plus it´ll be mine :-) Ostmaerker |

I just wanted to let you know: It was sold for about 2600 €, i stopped bidding long before!
Thanks for your assessments! Ostmaerker |
