Dear All - wanted to pick your brain on this one as the RLB knowledge is not my strong side. I was offered this 2nd model with Erich Witte MM. What do you think. Is it period made? Any red flags? How do you estimate the value for this RLB?

I am not aware of that maker mark-the crown over K is the norm-interesting piece. Curious repair to the crossguard, de-nazified then re-nazified???? it would need to be very cheap....

Way overpriced for its condition. They are uncommon daggers but not rare enough that I'd pay that much for it in that condition. Not to mention it looks to have been repaired like Paul said. Also that etch is suspect, I used to collect these and never once came across that MM etching. Maybe someone re-etch while repairing the dagger? The etching doesn't look right and its light, also the pitting on and around the etch is strange.

Witte is known for having very lightly etched maker marks but I've never seen one like this. It looks very poorly done & is even off center. Aside from this & in general the dagger looks to have been repaired. I'd hold out for a better conditioned piece.
