There is a Hans-Joachim Elzner listed in the Berlin Phone directory.

That would be the way to go. Ring him and ask if his grand-daddy was a Nazi doctor... maybe worked with Mengele!!

Truth is sometimes stranger than fiction I found the surviving family of a named Luft dedication sword through the German phonebook. I contacted every person with the same name, and got a reply from the Officers son. Hit and miss I know, but it paid off for me... got a full provinance on the sword this way.
