By the way, fake dagger IMO.
I do not like the scabbard at all.

Here are some of the reasons that I know that this RAD leader dagger is a reproduction.
The wheat shafts on top of the scabbard do not look at all like the ones we always see on a RAD scabbard.

The scabbard's hanging bands are also way off and are not originals.

Here are pictures of an original scabbard and compare them both, quite a difference I would say.

This is one of the better fakes that I've seen so far but still light years away from any original one.

If this is the best they can do so far, well, we then have many more years of collecting and fun ahead of us. Big Grin

For me the dead give away is the blade. Incorrect shape with cheap photoetched trademark.

Thanks very much to all of you for your help. Pat, now that you have pointed out these two flags your comments make absolute sense. I am most greatful that you have taken the time with a beginner.

Thanks

James

Hi Mike - Phew this is from a long time ago. A guy was selling on his collection. I had a look at some of the Eickhorn pieces but all a bit iffy. The sad thing was I think he had bought them over the years and paid a lot of money for them.

If you need more detail contact me on email - jamest8@madasafish.com

Not a big deal. I saw same thing poping up recently in Poland so will ask around for origins just for future buyers to be aware.
