I bought this Puma from a fellow on another forum. I do not recognize this particular model. What attracted me was the deep engraving on the hilts backstrap, not to mention that this puppy is almost flawless. Nice combo of casting and engraving.

If you have a NR number pleas let me know.

Thank you,
Tom

Sabel back-strap. Notice the VERY deeply engraved pattern. OUt of all my other sabers, this one has undoubtedly, the deepest engraved hilt.

Puma MM. Solingen of course! Came with it's original portepee. Dry and brittle. I Pecarded it, and it's gonna need some mending and a little love to get it up to speed.

A little better view of that cat. She's unit marked with matching scabbard markings.

Tom,

You say this Puma sword is unit marked? What are the markings and can we see them?

George

George,
My bust Roll Eyes. The one that is unit marked is a Voos flat knucky that came with that Puma when they were purchased at the same time.

I can post it if you'd like or email.

NICE SWORD, BARON. AN INTERESTING PUMA DOVEHEAD, WITH THE DEEP TOOLING DESIGN ON THE BACKSTRAP AND THE RAISED EAGLE LANGET. IT DOESN'T SHOW IN THE PUMA CATALOG I HAVE, BUT THAT'S NOT UNCOMMON. ITS ALSO VERY SIMILAR TO A RICHARD HERDER DOVEHEAD PATTERN. THE INCUSED CHASING/TOOLING IS SO DEEP AND CLEAR THAT IT ALMOST LOOKS STAMPED OR DIE STRUCK. THE EICKHORN ROON LANGET EXHIBITS SIMILAR CHARACTERISTICS, BUT NOT NEARLY AS DEEP.

Thank you for the kind words fellas. I also nabbed an ACS double-sided oak leaf langet pattern (cast type seen on 66-67 of Angolia)i've been wanting for some time. They very seldom pop up in the condition in which i bought this one...off eFart also at a decent price!

I'm also still waiting for that wacky type saber (had a thread on it in early Jan) i've never seen nor seen reference to with the screwy swirl engarving on the hilts backstrap and the langet. Will post after she arrives.

It looks like the ferrule is incused too. What does the handguard look like, raised design, or incused?
