Recently I've spent a long time researching a particular sword I own but have been finding varying results as to it's approximate value. With the amount of sword-buffs on this site, I figure I could get a little better direction with this situation. Any feedback is appreciated!

Here's what I do know/have:

It's an Eickhorn Original Luftwaffe sword (Fliegerschwert)complete w/scabbard







The scabbard is missing the piece that would have attached it to a belt and the pictures should show the other visible damage the sword has. My grandfather got it from his dad who supposedly got it after killing an officer in WWII...I'm the third owner and it's never left my family.
