I've been fired as co-moderator. It seems that I have not been posting enough. Which is Vern and Dave's right but, it's hard to type with broken wrist and pins in your fingers from a motorcycle wreck. What realy bothers me is I never recived any thank you for sticking with GD from almost the start or even an email that I was being booted or why. I do want to thank all my fellow collectors on GD and the sword fourm. With respect, Dale Ellis

Sorry to hear it, Dale. Life, indeed, can be unfair.

I'm sorry to hear Dale. I was curious why the moderator status had changed to only reflect Fred as a mod.

A BIG thank you Dale for all your had work, insight and patience you provided to all the saber collectors. Since I've joined GD, I have always considered the sword forum my primary area of interest and can atest to the fact that you have always been available to provide help, experience, insight and direction.

Tom

Dale,

Thanks for your past work as a moderator. I am not the boss, just one who has read your postings and information over time. I appreciate your past effort and don't be a stranger to the German Sword Forum.

Dale, I remember when you came on board as Mod. The Mod at the time was Bill Shea,,who almost never posted!,,and the forum was on the slow side! ,,you got her going again ,and fairly, with no troubles!!

to bad they can't give you a thank you. Vern doesn't give a **** about the forum as it is with all the bull**** about and disappearing posts and members...
Hope you stay on,,,and get well buddy.. Hey,,hows the bike? Big Grin Wink

Dale did they know about your accident and condition when they fired you? Seems odd that you be fired when you are clearly incapacitated, odder even though if no enquiries were made as to why you were not posting.
I truly like this forum, though I'm a member of many it's the only one I log on to every day, I hate to hear of bad decisions that could affect its wellbeing.

Dale,

You must have missed this post from about a month ago:

http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/217096573/m/4910035355

including the sentence "I want to thank all these gentlemen for their earlier efforts, which were much appreciated. If their interest rekindles and they begin posting again, I would be happy to reconsider.

You must also have missed the discussions over the last year or so about absent Moderators. That has been a major complaint of members and the active moderators like Gaspare.

You must also gave missed the email Vern sent out earlier this year and missed reading it when it was posted in the Mod Forum. I also sent you a Moderator's Guide. The Introduction says - Quote

"What does “moderating” mean?

Moderators have a multifold responsibility. The first responsibility, obviously, is to be present on the GDC and to be seen to be present. Our members have strongly requested active, visible, and involved Moderators." End Quote.

You made just 10 posts in 2007.

Dave

Dale, I’ve been out of touch for a few days, and when I got back was very sorry to hear that you were in a motorcycle accident. And that you are no longer going to be a moderator. That our primary interests tended to diverge I felt was an asset, as no one can be on top of everything, and I highly valued your input.

And while it’s probably not something that I would do. I still get a smile when I think of the story you told of the time you rode home from a show on your motorcycle with a Cossack saber on your back Smile.

I wish you well in whatever you decide to to do.

With My Best Regards, FP

Dale,

Now that I have kids, I have very little free time to devote to reading this forum (and even less money to pursue this hobby), but I have always enjoyed your posts and gained quite a bit from your knowledge. Whenever I did ask a question, I always hoped you (and Fred) would lend me your insight. You both always answered quickly and with valuable input. Thank you for your service as a moderator. Sincerely,

Max

I just noticed this thread. Sorry to hear that Dale, however it's not surprising. Easy to fire someone else or suspend them. Frown

But apparently it's not so easy for the owner/s to fix the massive problem of the long ongoing and still continueing massive problem of the disappearing posts.

After being told it would be fixed, some data retrieved etc, we still bleed and lose more threads everyday. Frown
If it were up to me and life was fair I think I know where the "fireing" would begin...and not with someone like you.
Just calling it the way I see it. Nothing personal.

Best Wishes,
-serge-
