Do you know what type of sword this is it has no marks of any kind.The scabbard has two rings. Thanks in advance.

Looks like an early pre 1880 U.S. NCO sabre.

Hilt appears to be Model 1822 British, curved blade= Light Cavalry; straight blade= Artillery

Foxart , I agree . I am thinking it was based on that British design (m-1821 pattern).The reason for my thinking U.S. would be the leather grip instead of fish skin. Could it be early Civil war era ?? Or am I way off.

Could it be a US 1833 Dragoon which was based on the 1822 British sword. There is not a number or letter anyplace on this sword completely void of any markings at all.

The lack of markings lends to that as the British were proud of there abilities and normally marked them with proofs and makers . Such as Wilkinson , double triangles ,etc. Could be an import as well.

I basically agree w/the feasibility of everything above. IMO, the lack of any markings is an anomaly for either domestic OR export items. (Possibly a closer look at the ricasso and/or spine may be in order.)
