I just got another Police officer degen in... but it just doesnt feel right to me, especially compared to my WKC. This could just be because I dont know enough, maybe quality started slipping during the war? I'll post pictures, and any info, good or bad, will be appreciated.

The sword is the Muller/Dachau type. The hilt and scabbard fittings are typical of that maker. The slightly oversized upper scabbard fitting is occasionally seen on these swords. Some speculate this indicates a postwar-made or postwar assembled sword, partially from leftover stock parts. Others speculate it indicates a shortage of supply parts to Muller, probably during the war, and he used what parts he could locate. The Muller swords are of later production and, generally, do not reflect the finer quality of earlier swords. They are also smaller in many dimensions. Muller police swords seem to be scarcer than Muller SS officer swords. The only thing I see about your sword that may be seriously questionable is the upper scabbard fitting. That anomaly is explained, at least in part, above.

I agree, there are typical signs ( D-guard)for a Müller-Dachau sword, but at that time i don't know that Müller-Dachau made Police Degens, that is new for me.I like your sword. The laquer on the scabbard is new.

well, I feel a little better... To me it looked like a total knock off. Again; especially when set next to my others. I bought it online, and I always worry when I can't see the item before paying for it.
I assumed the scabbard had been redone, that didnt bother me too much. But when I finally got to see it, the metal all seemed somewhat cheap.

Thank you both for your input, and of course I welcome any more.

Normally, the blade and many fittings are made of stainless steel. They are rarely seen plated. These swords do have a different look and feel than other SS and police swords.
