No hunting party would have been complete without the eating utensals, especially if they were going to sample the kill while in the field. I have seen some very elaberate and expensive trousse sets. The following is a set dated 1840. Sorry for the poor pictures of the blade. Had a hard time getting the shadows from hiding the shiny blade. I would like to see more examples of these and suspect you collectors probably have a few to show.

Interesting engraving on the knife. 'Wenn Gott mit mir, wer wider mich'. It means 'When God is with me, who could be against me'.
