I've had this piece only about a year, it came to me through a very nice dealer, I knew of it before he got it but finally took the plunge once I saw it for the first time.
I have found out that the shooting club is still going strong today, also one of the founding members is also listed on the blade, a Herr Schmitz.

yes I suppose I am but I knew you guys would like it. I find myself looking at this piece everyday, the bluing is the best I have ever seen, very little wear and it's a great pea**** blue that is stunning within the scrolls on the reverse.
Thanks guys

Gary

Having seen and held this item-in awe I might add- I can assure everyone that in a collection for which there are no superlatives adequate enough, this piece has to be my favourite-I think..or was it the Kaiser sword,or..or..or..

Beautiful shooting piece Gary. It is hard to believe that some idiot would sell a piece like that, but now it has found the proper home.

Even though these aren't in my collecting area you can't help but appreciate the workmanship, history and overall presentation of such an artifact. If you only had one, this would be it. Beautiful.
