This was offered to me about 3 months ago, I had previously bought something from the seller and he offered me a couple hirschfängers, this was one of them, the other was one with an etched Eickhorn mark.I turned it down because I thought it was not right, I can't put my finger on it but I didn't get the good vibes I usually do, I don't like the presentation on the blade and the lack of decoration on the lower mount, it could be good but I don't like it. Is this the makers mark on the blade.

So far-I don't like the look of it either. It may not be a reproduction or fake but I don't think it is WWII period. Foresters and Hunters still have their organizations in modern Germany.

Thanks for all you input -

The seller indicated that the maker was 'BASTIAN" so I guess its the same one offered Gary - have to agree the lower scabbard fitting should have some decor with the dedication etc. Think I will pass also.
thanks All
