Made by WK&C,circa 1880-1900, belonged to a member of the Von Osten-Sacken family, not sure yet which branch of this large family.
What I do know is that the owner was a member of the diplomatic corps in New Zealand at the outbreak of WWII. By all accounts he left this piece with a young New Zealand girl when he left for Germany.
Pictured on the front of one of TJ's newest Imperial series.

That is one of the nicest ones I have ever seen. I hope to find one like that in my lifetime!

Beautiful...

Gary,

The history of the piece is as nice as the piece itself. You have to love that boar's head pommel too.

Gary, I look at this dagger on the cover of that book almost daily. Just a great piece and very pleasing to the eye. One of the finest in my opinion. Thanks for showing, James

Beautiful piece.

IMO silver-toned fittings on any hirschfänger are significantly more elegant than the more typical gold-toned fittings. Plus this hirschfänger is simply a gorgeously proportioned and embellished design.

Definitely worthy of any book cover.

Congratulations.

Gary, I am sure by now you have had to construct a nice addition to your home to accommodate all these treasures. Hope the times find you fit! Cool
