Is it better,quicker,more lucrative to try to sell to personal contacts gained at a national show or here on the internet?
The caps I listed on the test below represents a very small sample.

Depends partly on what you have. If you can take clear photos of the items and post them here we can work out what you have/approx value. There is a classified section on the forum where you can sell your stuff and expect to get a decent price.

In my humble opinion, it depends on the quality of your collection.

If you have a mix of great items and some less interesting ones, I think you should sell in one lot to a dealer. If sold individually, the nice items will sell easily and you will be stuck with the less interesting ones. If you only have pristine, sought after stuff, sell them individually on the internet.
