These came back from the war with my dad. We're curious about what they are. What you call them. What they might be worth. and How do we go about selling them.
Any help to this new guy would be great. Bayonet has Horster Solingen mark on it, leather belt hanger has (something) GRAF 1940 huchenheim stamped on it. The wide blade knife has Carl Eickhorn Solingen mark on it, the leather hanger says Otto Sindel Berlin 238 on it. The Red Cross knife doesn't seem to have a makers mark, it looks like it says Ges. Geschutzt where the blade meets the handle, the leather hanger says Carl Busse Mainz 1940 on it. Thanks P.S. How to I upload more than 1 photo? Thanks again ![]() |

I've already learned a ton from many of you and I've still got lots of questions. Most concerning the Carl Eickhorn RAD Hewer.
There is a marking on the handle "Ma 215", the same number "215" is stamped onto 2 places on the scabard as well. Do you know what it stands for? I've also read about the metal on the scabard, some say nickel, some say other things, how do I tell? I've also read about real vs. fake stag handles, how do I tell? As I take more pictures I'll probably have questions about the bayonet and red cross pieces as well. Thank you all very much for the info so far. These thumbnails can be enlarged with a click. |

Welcome-The Red Cross & rad appear to be very nice examples. I would say the Red Cross should bring between $750 & 1k depending on condition these are every prone to plating lifting. The Rad is of early mfg due to the Early Eickhorn Mark. The fittings are probably solid nickel. The scabbard fittings & crossguard still retain the black burnishing very desirable. Price will also depend on condition these are prone to lifting on the spine as well. I would say this hewer should sell with the hanger in the
$900-1250$ range. The pictures provided really are not good enough to properly assess the condition. The bayonet I cannot comment on as it is not a field I follow. |

Isn't the crossguard on the Red Cross EM Hewer upside down? Not that it matters, didn't realise you could do that , just looks strange.

RAD blade looks to have sharpening to it.If this is the way it came it's a true working blade. Most like them cleaner but we have to remember the RAD role.I like it

Yeah, I thought it would have been nice if was perfect but this is the way it was when he got it. These have been in a box in the basement for 60+ years.

That full hanger on the Rad is quite nice. They are usually missing but that one is one of the nicest I have seen.
