Hello....all>>i have this beautiful Italian knife and the scabbard was cleaned as you can see ...any ideas what to use to clean off the rust and something to use after to preserve it the way it is >>that it would not get rusty again >>>Thanks

Nice knife,maybe very fine steel wool might help remove rust. Or maybe semi chrome that is a favorite around here. Then maybe a light coat of oil or another favorite is renwax. Good luck, Ian.

Hi,dirk model 1935 of MVSN(Milizia Volontarie per la Sicurezza Nazionale)in origin cruise is steel sun-tanned and the furnace painted in black,it was very common in the époch that awners of dirks personily(duce,text,insignia..)them with insignia or engravings in the hand other one idem Arditi or Austrian knife 1917

Use BRONZE wool, not steel wool. Bronze wool will take off the rust without damaging the scabbard like steel wool would. Apply a coat of penetrating oil like 3 in 1 oil first then use the bronze wool.
