As I usually do I want to share my latest add to my collection with all the rest of you collectors out there.
Here`s my 2nd luft by E & F Hörster. I especially like the grip-colour on this one. Nice lemon-yellow. Fits perfectly in between my other daggers. Smile

Thanks a lot Landser. Smile
Words like that warms a collectors heart.
I prefirm quality before quantity and I`m in no rush to fill up my "boys-room" in a hurry just to own a lot of daggers.
In time I`m sure that the right ones will come by. Wink

Yes I quite agree with you, always buy nice quality & you will enjoy them more & find them easier to sell if your interest shifts. I actually like daggers that fall in the exc ++ range. The reason being that I like pieces that were worn & not lifted from a shop or factory premises. I can understand why some might like "mint" items but to me they are devoid of any historical attachment. When selling some daggers recently I actually decided to part with an unissued navy dagger & kept a well carried piece in preference.

Enjoy your collecting, take your time & pick your pieces carefully.

A Screamer, my 2nd favourite after nice armies, but then again I'm poor and boring.
I really, really, would like a minty conditioned SS ehrendegen and I do know where one is available, unfortunately what with 3 grown up kids and 6 grandkids I cant afford it. However, you are such a nice bunch of guys on here and I'm sure you would all love to see an old geezer die happy I'm sure that Dave H would pass on all your contributions to 'Nolans Dream' fund Wink

As they often say on here 'thanx' in advance Big Grin

Collecting daggers has allways been an expencive hobby, but it`s also a question of priority. Cut back on some luxury expences and save a few dollars each month. That way you`ll soon have enough cash to fullfill your dream. Wink

After all, if they were cheap everyone would have a lot of them and it wouldnt be anything special about them.

Allso its better to buy good examples that cost a few dollars more than to buy cheap crappy ones. Cool

Best of luck!
