Finally (for this thread Cool ) my EICKHORN (AAA) tAgged, bAgged and sAcked. The original with this dagger grey felt sack/cover I did not scan. Sorry, a very late edition with no "textbook" paper bag. Only thick paper with the model number stamped on it due to late in the war. But quality dagger like in the early days. even the neat artificial burnishing for contrast purpose. The dagger was never cleaned(!), has it´s protector laquer for 100% and therefore also the original frosted silvering. Enjoy.

It always has been in the paper bag off light (and is still stored off light) and therefore I for myself cannot part the white grip theory (also due to my PACK above Smile).

Mark. Sorry, in the scan not easy to recognize (did my best), directly below the bow of the crossgard. Stamped "squirrel looking over the shoulder" and "Original Eickhorn Solingen".

Congratulations Wotan! beautiful daggers.

Do you buy in Germany or from the states? I bought a near mint army from Weitze in Hamburg, but I find the choice, especially for Exc ++ and above and personalized daggers is far greater among the US and Canada based dealers. I would love to pop over for one of the big German flea markets though

Ps. Is there any such thing as a 100% textbook dagger?

Gustavo, yes! but you must now take into consideration the textbook. Given the info that you had provided to me via email(in another thread) that may be harder to accecpt. But, the answer is yes. From leader pieces to short carbine dress bayos, textbook pieces are common, just not in ultra drippy mint condition. Besides i have as much love for bagged and tagged stuff as I do for a nice worn combat piece.
Wotan: man I gotta' say the eick bag is killer. Fantastic! Bret

Don't encourage him. I'm trying to talk him out the Eickhorn..... Big Grin Big Grin
They are all rather beautiful though.

wotan
I beg to differ about the "textbook" language though as Tom Wittmann has said that combination of parts is OK on a Pack.....and he wrote the Army "bible".... I'd take the Pack, too except for the fact that some lacquer has turned loose leaving only 80-85% and leaving a splotchity look to it. Smile

Thank you for your kind words.
@Gustavo, these three daggers were bought in Germany and Austria although I also have bought other items from the States.
I don not like the expression "textbook", there are legit assamblances which can be seen more often and some are less seen.
@cog hammer, lateron I will also show my worn daggers with history (like e.g. a parachutist officer´s dagger)
@denny, I knew you would appreciate it Wink. Sorry that I am no "investment" collector so the EICKHORN hardly can be talked out.

Nice what a great shot Wotan I wonder if any of your relatives would remember anything about the grip colors on daggers no doubt this one was white.
