Admittidly I'm no expert on damast blades but I think the price is telling. I would think if this were the real thing that it would have been scooped up at that buy it now price. ![]() |

hi all,according to whittman the spelling is paul mueller,and he states "when blades are encountered with the name of the mastersmith on the ricasso,they are usually post-war".the marks should be on the tang. cheers peter

hi again, bit more info from witt."soligen chamber of commerce records reveal six qualified damastschmieden as of 1938 ---robert deus, paul mueller, paul dinger, paul hillman ,otto kossler,and carl wester"hope this helps. cheers peter

I primarily posted this so some of the newer members would see it. Good comments all. There's a couple of others on Ebay currrently that are bad and I'll let someone else find and post them.

You're right, that pommel is from a Landzoll, good eye. Looks like the Eban Gestapo got to it already, I guess this inconspicuous hiding of the crossguard swaz is what did it. ![]() |
