I just sold this and the buyer says that this maker mark never existed. I thought it was good one. Let me know what you think.

Good one.
Parts dagger.
All fake.

I have a couple of comments on your dagger in general. I am not a maker mark expert and cannot comment on that part of your dagger. However, the blade looks as though it is C&Y manufactured. I say that because it does not appear to have the standard crossgraining. All the C&Y blades that I have seen have graining that looks like it was put on with a polishing wheel...... Vertical, and radiating out from the central segment all the way down the blade. Gives it a matt finish. Is that how the graining looks to you? If so, it is probably a C&Y blade.

My biggest concern is with the pommel. It does not seem to have lower acorns. Tom Johnson offered similar pommels years ago as replacements. They were sold as orginals. I am not saying they were not correct, but they are not in Wittmann's book and I have never seen one on a dagger that I believed was absolutely original.

The crossguard is generic and no problems there. The scabbard is also ok.

To answer your question, I vote parts dagger because of the pommel. I do not believe it to be original. No problem with anything else.

Ford, well spotted on the pommel acorns, pommel was my only concern here, not because of the acorns but the general finish, though well executed the finish does not match that of the crossguard, which on a 'good' piece should, rest of the dag looks fine so pommel may be a replacement.

Like to see closer pics but this one does not appear to have the C&J specific grip wire. C&J went through some different fittings but allways(in my experience)kept the very busy looking grip wire that was exclusive to them... Kevin.

It's ALL in the DETAILS!!.......
